How to get here
By car: For those in the Northeast, East Montpelier is a quick roadtrip away. We’re talking a 6 hour drive from New York and a 3 hour drive from Boston (pending major metro area traffic!).
By plane: The closest airport is Burlington (BTV), which is less than an hour drive. It is a small airport with limited direct flights. So, you may find that flying into Boston and is more efficient! Montpelier is ~3 hour drive from Boston.
By train: Amtrak can deliver you just 2 miles (~3km) outside of downtown Montpelier from any major city in the Northeast. There are limited rental cars in Montpelier and they are not walkable from the train station, so this is only a good option if you’re sharing a car with someone who is meeting you there!
Where to stay
We have room blocks at three spots in or around Montpelier - which is where we’ll be providing shuttles to & from the ceremony. Lodging is limited, so we’d recommend you book early!
Montpelier Inn: Rooms can be booked by calling (802) 223-2727 and mention the Cromwell/James room block. Rooms cannot currently be booked online and their rates range but are typically ~$200 per night.
Capitol Plaza Hotel Montpelier: Rooms can be booked online by going to Hilton.com, inputting relevant dates, and then choosing Special Rates and using CJW as the Group Code. Room rates are $199 per night.

AirBnBs are also a great option. There are a handful within downtown Montpelier. Or if you prefer to stay further in the countryside and don’t mind driving to the shuttles - there are lots of beautiful farmhouses!
Transportation
We’d recommend renting a car for those that are taking a train or flying. Most of Vermont’s natural beauty is outside it’s quaint towns. Public transportation, Ubers, and Lyfts are extremely limited, so I wouldn’t recommend relying on as your mode of transit!
We’ll be providing shuttles between Montpelier and the wedding venue on the day of the wedding. You’re welcome to catch the shuttles regardless of where you’re staying!
Please meet at either of the Montpelier Inn, Capitol Plaza, or the Comfort Inn & Suites at 2:30pm for a 2:40pm departure.
Each bus will return to each hotel (Montpelier Inn, Capitol Plaza, or the Comfort Inn & Suites) with the first return departing at 10:30pm and the last return at 12:00am.
