Welcome to the Green Mountain State! There’s lots to do, see, eat and drink here.
to eat & drink!
-
Bohemian Bakery
Some of the best pastries we’ve ever had. Try a chocolate swirl, kouign amann, or a spinach and artichoke croissant.
-
Bragg Farm - Creamees
The best maples creemees (i.e., soft serve) in all of Vermont just outside East Montpelier. Lots of trinkets to browse and goats to pet.
-
Three Penny Taproom
Great spot for a beer & casual fare in downtown Montpelier. The fries are top notch. The rootbeer is also yum!
-
Chill
The perfect soft gelato on a hot day in Montpelier. The cookies and cream is better than most!
-
Birchgrove Baking
Another Montpelier spot! Hot donuts on Sunday mornings (until sold out) & they’re the best donuts we’ve ever had. Doors open at 8am.
-
Hen of the Wood
Another Waterbury spot - for all the foodies out there. Great spot for upscale, locally sourced and seasonal bites.
-
Prohibition Pig
Delicious barbecue in Waterbury. They have a restaurant and a more casual brewery - we especially love the brewery!
-
Charlie O's
A self described “dive for nice people”, this is lively spot with regular live music and karaoke. Check out their socials for upcoming events.
to do!
-
Montpelier Town
Lot’s of great shops from clothing, vintage, records, and outdoors stuff. The farmers markets on Saturday mornings is a delight!
-
Hiking
Our favorites are Spruce Mountain (more approachable, with an optional fire tower climb) and Mount Hunger (more on the challenging side). Bring bug spray!
-
Natural Pools
Vermont has some lovely natural swimming holes. Warren Falls is our all time favorite, also Bingham Falls. It can get busy on the weekends!
-
Waterbury Reservoir
If your interested in boating, there’s ton of kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding and just enjoying the water at Waterbury. Umiak Waterbury Outpost offers rentals, but if you have your own, Waterbury Boat Launch is great spot to start your on-water adventure.
-
Ben & Jerry's Factory
For the ice cream lovers out there. See how the magic happens. They even have a flavor graveyard!
-
Visit Burlington & Lake Champlain
A 1 hour drive, but so much to do once your there! Lots of great food, shops on Church St, beaches on Lake Champlain and biking trails!
-
Harry's Hardware, Cabot
A pub in a hardware store. Come for a drink, leave with a new wrench set! If you have time, there is a short hike nearby with great views.
